신세기 에반게리온
1995년 TV에서 방영된 신세기 에반게리온. 시대적 배경은 2015년이었다. 1995년에는 까마득한 20년 뒤의 미래였는데, 그로부터 24년이라는 시간이 지난 것이다.
20년이란 시간은 오지 않을 것 같은 시대의 느낌이다. 10년도 먼 미래이지만, 20년은 지금과는 완전히 달라진 세상이 되어 있을 듯한 미래에 가깝다. 확실히 1995년에서 2015년까지 많은 것이 달라지고, 우리의 가치관과 행동들도 많이 달라졌지만, 에반게리온은 여전히 너무 앞서 있는 기술이다.
시대적 배경으로 말하자면 2019년은 블레이드 러너, 아일랜드, 아키라의 배경이 되는 연도였다. 그리고 1년 뒤면 1989년에 방영되었던 국내 만화 <2020 우주의 원더키디>의 2020년도 곧 다가온다.
