Breaking news - I am the diddliest of diddle daddle dumminses. I actually secured all this air access medication some months prior[Shown here arranged so as to conceal personal details]. I had them in a bag. On top of the medicine cabinet. Which I then lost because OOSOOM.

I'm an idiot. But at least that's one crisis out of the road. My next crisis? For SURE dealing with the slowly-falling sink in the bathroom.

That... and dealing with temptation. Like this thing:

Blankie.png (2).jpg

Shown here - the box it came in. I was so enthused to have a grownup-sized one that I didn't wait to take a pic of the actual thing. Plus my house is a constant state of mess because consistent mental issues.

I pretty much had to get it because it was there. It's one of those "there and gone again" items that might only ever turn up once. I don't know for sure, but I wasn't taking any chances. I knew it was good for me so I got it.

This one? This is a better nights' sleep. I did have a kiddies' version, but body temp issues lead to disturbed sleep. One that actually covers my entire body is the ideal. I still sleep for six hours, but it's a much higher quality six hours.

It's more often, "Ah, that was good sleep," at 3AM rather than, "Awake at 3AM again? FGFDS, I don't want to be awake."

The good news is that, now I've got them [or remembered I have them] I don't need to buy them again. The rest of the fam is not the target audience for the meds and not interested in my sound slumber blankie.

The bad news is that these were both three-figure purchases. A solid hunk out of the money I'm allowed to download to avoid the ever-hungry eye of Mr Taxman.

The better news is that I'm within weeks of launch, chasing down materials and tradies to fix the dang sink. I've been more frugal than I think I've been.

Three figure purchases that are actually important don't count, you need to be able to breathe and sleep ;D

They kind of do count, as being able to breathe and sleep are important for making content :D It's still a sock in the budget.

I needed the meds. We all know this. I could deal without having a grownup blankie... Probably. It still feels like cheating.

Gotta keep repeating to myself, Being able to breathe and sleep are important.

I meant they don't count in terms of worrying about the chunk they take out of the budget. You need to breathe and sleep, so therefore you need to spend as much money as is required on the things that make breathing and sleeping easier and better for you.

I'm actually okay with the weighted blanket costing a bit but not the meds >_<

It's not cheating, you bought that blanket fair and square XP is it helping? :D

Considering that I got in more than my accustomed six hours' sleep, last night, I would have to say it does help.

May save up later for a bamboo one with glass beads because I become a human furnace in the wee small hours and that's apparently the best model for furnaces like me.

After I fix the slo-mo disaster in the bathroom for sure.

Youngest has one with glass beads in squares. They're apparently easier to wash (which is why we blew the money on that type) and also useful because the weight remains evenly distributed, but it does need to go in the wash by itself XD Useful to know that they apparently help with furnaces as he does the same thing, I didn't know that when I bought it.

All proper weighted blankets should have the weights in separate pockets/squares. Anything different is just fooling itself and others.

I've done a lot of research :D

Ideally, the perfect material for a weighted blanket is silk, because it's good with all temperatures. But none of us have silk budgets. So bamboo is the next best thing. Third on the fabric tier is cotton. But glass beads WIN because heat dissipation.
