Here's a link about some of the controversy: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/06/ghana-academics-petition-removal-mahatma-gandhi-statue-african-heroes

I was at the University of Ghana when this statue was put up, and took courses with professors who signed the petition to remove the statue.

This was news to me. We never heard that he hated anyone for that matter. I am not a historian and don't want to fan any controversy here. Truth is a strange thing. No one will ever know.

Actually, Gandhi wrote and published writings using slurs and saying hateful things about Black South Africans. In this case, we can know, because there is plenty of evidence, some of which can be read for free online right now. It is a matter of historical record.

He was against the Whites when he was thrown out of the train by one of them.
