If we look closely at the whales who are the loudest and most aggressive proponents of protecting the reward pool from abuse, they are also the most abusive.
There is a case to be made for protecting the platform from abuse of the reward pool. The path forward must be by building an open democracy which gives everyone the opportunity to voice their opinion without fear of being attacked.
The proposed changes to the reward pool system promoted by @themarkymark are ideas from the most abusive whales on the platform. Their interest is in changing the system to serve them better, not the platform as a whole. Collectively we need to wake up to this.
