Crazy Aceh

Perhaps for some people of Aceh are familiar with the title "pungo". The meaning of the word “pungo”is "crazy". This crazy word was obtained when the Indonesia Country was not yet independent, when the Indonesian Country was still fighting against invaders to gain its independence.
Aceh is one of the provinces in Indonesia located at the tip of Sumatra island. Aceh has also been colonized by the Dutch state at that time, at the time of the struggle against the invaders that the soldiers from the Dutch country the spirit of the people of Aceh never faded in the struggle to gain independence for the people of Indonesia.
The martyrdom of the people of Aceh was one of the dreams of independence heroes. They were never afraid to die to fight against invaders, even if only bamboo sharpened the aceh people brave against the invaders who have sophisticated weaponry at the time.
Dutch soldiers can not believe the courage that is owned by the people of Aceh to defend his country with only a pointy bamboo can attack a swarm of Dutch troops. Therefore, the Aceh people earned the nickname“aceh pungo”from Dutch troops. The predicate still survive until now.

Mungkin bagi sebagian rakyat Aceh sudah tidak asing lagi dengan sebutan “pungo”. Arti kata pungo yaitu “ gila”. Kata gila ini didapatkan ketika negara Indonesia belum merdeka,,ketika negara Indonesia masih berjuang melawan penjajah untuk mendapatkan kemerdekaannya.
Aceh merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia yang berada di ujung pulau Sumatera. Aceh juga pernah dijajah oleh negara belanda pada saat itu, pada saat perjuangan melawan penjajah yaitu serdadu dari negara belanda semangat rakyat aceh tidak pernah memudar dalam berjuang untuk mendapatkan kemerdekaan bagi rakyat indonesia.
Keinginan mati syahid bagi rakyat aceh waktu itu menjadi salah satu impian bagi pahlawan-pahlawan kemerdekaan. Mereka tidak pernah takut mati untuk berjuang melawan penjajah,,bahkan hanya bermodalkan bambu yang diruncingkan rakyat aceh berani melawan penjajah yang memiliki persenjataan yang sudah canggih waktu itu.
Serdadu belanda tidak habis pikir dengan keberanian yang dimiliki oleh rakyat aceh untuk membela negaranya..dengan hanya bambu runcing seorang bisa menyerang segerombolan serdadu belanda. Oleh karena itu,rakyat aceh mendapat julukan aceh pungo dari serdadu belanda. Predikat itu masih bertahan sampai sekarang.
