Focus, Aceh - Rubiah Island, is a small island in the border area of Indonesia which is part of Sabang City, Aceh Province. This uninhabited small island lies northwest of Weh Island. It is about 350 meters from Iboih Beach on Pulau Weh.
As aired Focus Indosiar, Friday (9/3/2018), with waters covering an area of 2600 hectares, Rubiah Island is famous for its amazing marine park. A wide variety of coral reef plants spread widely decorated with colorful ornamental fishes.
In addition to enjoying coral reefs, some objects are also placed on the seafloor that serves as artificial reefs. Rubiah Island charm also amaze visitors who come.
In addition to the beauty of the marine park, Rubiah Island also keeps a history story. On this island there is the tomb of Ummi Sarah Rubiah, wife of Ulama Tengku Ibrahim or Tengku Iboih which became the name of this island.
On this island also stands the first hajj hostel in Indonesia built in the Dutch colonial period. But since the departure of Hajj no longer through sea transportation, hajj hostel in Rubiah Island is now neglected and unkempt.
A number of buildings were damaged and covered with vines and weeds.
