PADANG TIJI, Indonesia - Want a vacation while enjoying the beauty of nature and a river like a Grand Canyon? No need to go all the way to the Americas. In Aceh, there is a river similar to the Grand Canyon. His name is Lingkok Kuwieng.

Lingkok Kuwieng is located in the hinterland of Hagu forest, 20 km or 1.5 hours from the center of Padang Tiji Subdistrict, Pidie, Aceh. The place is often called the Grand Canyon of Aceh. Imagine, the river wall there is a rock that is neatly arranged in the form of a large canyon.

The canyon is formed somewhat like an ancient site. The arrangement and contours of the stone at first glance like the results of hand-carved men of old. But make no mistake, the canyon there is formed by itself.

The uniqueness of the Lingkok Kuwieng canyon is a purely natural phenomenon, due to erosion by mountain water that always flows with an ever-changing volume.

"Very cool, the rocks are neatly arranged and extending along the side of the river I was the first time here," said Fauzi Ramli, a visitor to Rappler.
