El día de ayer fue el El Día Nacional De La Preparación y Respuesta a Emergencias Químicas en México.
Como su nombre lo dice, se trata de un día en el que se hace difusión sobre posibles riesgos químicos a los que estamos expuestos y como podemos atenderlos en caso de algún evento.
Normalmente en las industrias, además de la difusión y entrenamiento, se realizan simulacros. En el caso de mi trabajo se realizó un simulacro por fuga de cloro gas, que es una de las sustancias más peligrosas dentro de la central.

Yesterday was the National Day of Preparation and Response to Chemical Emergencies in Mexico.
As the name says, it is a day in which diffusion is made about possible chemical risks to which we are exposed and how we can take care of them in case of an event.
Usually in the industries, in addition to the diffusion and training, simulations are carried out. In the case of my work, a simulation was carried out for the leakage of chlorine gas, which is one of the most dangerous substances in the plant.
El evento se trataba de una fuga en el cuerpo del cilindro de cloro y duró cerca de una hora todo el simulacro.
A mi, como miembro del departamento químico me corresponde avisar cuando hay un evento de ésta clase. Mi compañero y yo nos pusimos el sistema de aire autónomo y un traje encapsulado. Tenemos que entrar al área del clorador para identificar la fuga y regresar por el equipo para poder contener la fuga. En esta ocasión participó lo brigada de seguridad de la central y fueron ellos quienes resolvieron la fuga.
Por último, nosotros los químicos volvemos a entrar para verificar que la fuga esté controlada. Una disculpa por no poder compartirles más fotos, pero en esta ocasión se le dio un poco más seriedad al evento y las personas que tomaron video y fotos no han compartido todavía las imágenes.

The event was a leak in the body of the chlorine cylinder and lasted about an hour the whole simulation.
To me, as a member of the chemical department, it is my duty to advise when there is an event of this kind. My partner and I put on the autonomous air system and an encapsulated suit. We have to enter the chlorinator area to identify the leak and return through the equipment to be able to contain the leak. On this occasion, the security brigade of the plant participated and it was they who resolved the leak.
Finally, we chemists go back in to verify that the leak is controlled. An apology for not being able to share more photos, but this time the event was given a little more seriousness and the people who took video and photos have not yet shared the images.
