Hikers in the Austin, Texas know all about this popular attraction. It is called Enchanted Rock, and is located in Fredericksburg, Texas. Enchanted Rock is a granite outcropping that is part of what is called the Llano Uplift.At its height, this outcropping is 1,825 feet above sea level. This is a moderate hike. Not too difficult, especially if one takes plenty of time to stop and take photos (as I did!). It was about 6,000 steps round trip, primarily because we walked around a ton when we got to the top.
