We were all excited for our annual trip to Catalina. We expected great weather with lots of hikes. We did get in lots of hikes, but not on the trails. The weather was cold and rainy. We were also fogged in most days, but we did get one great afternoon and took advantage of it. Some of the rainy hikes required a long hot shower afterwards to warm back up.
All in all, a week of bad weather in Catalina is still better than a week of good weather at home! We averaged about 15,000 steps per day.
Here is a picture of Avalon on the one good day of weather we had.
The fog at night.
I got a haircut before one hike at Lolo's. He is 93 years old!
Of course, the weather was perfect the morning we left!
Our flight home took us over some snowpeaks that rose above the California high desert.
