As a human being, no Government needs to own firearms and if they do, then their track record confirms the civilians need better ones

And therein lies the problem. Citizens do not have better guns and never will. In north america we have militarized our police forces. The only way to fix the problem is not by owning guns but by non-violent protest that forces reasonable controls that reduce this madness. America must decide what is more important. People or profits? Guns or lives?

They may have larger arms, but we have larger numbers. No one is advocating violent revolt, save maybe a misguided few. The point isn't that we want a violent revolution, but a means to repel a violent oppression.

Using that logic all civilians should have nukes then. Collecting guns to protect ourselves from the militarized police state is an NRA induced delusion.
In my view large numbers of civilians with guns will only lead to more violence as USA history has confirmed.

The gun is the great equalizer in many aspects :)
