KONI Aceh Daily Chair H Kamaruddin Abu Bakar or Abu Razak during the release of the pre-fencing PON contingent in Banda Aceh on Monday, asked athletes to be able to get as many PON passes as possible.
The Aceh Ikasi Contingent will take part in the Pre-PON which will be held in Semarang, Central Java, October 10-15, 2019. The Aceh Contingent will depart on Tuesday (8/10).
"Ikasi Aceh is a mainstay of our branches in every championship, especially in the Pre-PON and PON events," he said.
According to Abu Razak, even though it had declined in PON XIX in 2016 in West Java, he believed that in the future Ikasi Aceh would return to victory.
"Get as many PON tickets as possible. That way there will be a big opportunity for Ikasi Aceh to be able to win a lot of gold medals at PON 2020," he said.
He also reminded that in 2024 when Aceh hosted PON along with North Sumatra, the fencing branch would be contested in Aceh.
Abu Razak hopes that Acehnese fencing athletes can prepare themselves from now on, to win as many tickets in the Pre-PON event, win a gold medal in the PON event, and improve sports achievements when Aceh hosts the PON XXI in 2024.
"The hope of improving Aceh's sports achievements is on the shoulders of all of you," he told athletes.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of Ikasi Aceh, M. Nasir, SIP, MPA reported, the total number of athletes who departed was 27 people, accompanied by 3 trainers and 2 officials.
"The athletes will compete in 10 numbers, out of 12 numbers competed," said M Nasir who was accompanied by Deputy Chair of Ikasi Aceh, Darmawan.
The numbers followed by the Ikasi Aceh contingent are, male florist, male florist group, male deagen individual, male deagen group, male sabel individual, male sabel group, female deagen individual, female deagen group, female sabel group, and female sabel group .
"The match starts from 10 to 15 October 2019 in Semarang," said Zulfikar, Vice Chair III of Ikasi Aceh who is also a contingent trainer for the Aceh Pre-PON IKASI Team.
