Our first series is about a guy in love John, age 32yrs and a software engineer by profession. And this is his love story.....
My greatest love story happened about 5yrs ago.
There was this girl that I've been trying to woo throughout my university days her name is Anita, she's just the girl of my dreams (She's just like Beyonce and maybe that's why I'm one of her fan.) she's just perfect for me but all through my 4 years in the university she kept refusing my advances till we graduated.
Since I left the university until after 3 years...
It was on a Friday evening after the normal hectics of the day's job. (I'm now working as a software engineer in a reputable firm in Lagos)
I entered into my car and put on Rick Ross's "bmf" from his Teflon dons album to lighten my mood.
I was lost in the vibe that I didn't notice the black SUV in front of has reduced it speed and with its left pointer on. It was too late before I notice and I rammed it from behind, moments later my car was also hit from behind. I was lost and confused as the car was for the company.
The SUV driver begins to shout but I was lost in my dysphoric state. I was lost in thought when I heard a familiar angelic voice just from behind trying to plead that she didn't hit my car intentionally.
I look in the direction of the voice and behold my Anita in her glory. I forgot all my troubles immediately and walk up to her. We were still exchanging pleasantries when I received the slap of my life from the driver of the SUV. The slap was so heavy that I lost my balance and hit my head against the car door.
"He's going to be alright, just let him rest for a while and he will be ready for discharge in the morning". That was the voice of the doctor that just treated me. She was explaining to Anita and the driver at the entrance of ward.
"Okay doctor". They both chorused in unison.
Who'll be staying the night with him?
I'll stay with him Anita said.
I smiled mentally as the doctor walked out. The driver said some things to Anita and they both went out.
I was very happy that Anita was staying back, that will give me one more golden chance to try to make her mine.
About an hour later Anita came in with food and drinks. She placed the food on the table just beside the bed and dragged a chair closer to sit.
John... " she called me softly with an anticipating look, what the hell are you thinking?"
Thinking? I managed to say
Yeah, on the road while driving she replied.
"I was thinking about my life."
Your life?
Yeah. I've been quite unlucky with relationships. But wait, what are you also thinking? You hit my car?!
My fiancee ends our 5 years relationship.
What?!
After about 5 minutes of silently rehearsing my next line of action I finally blurted out..
"You know about all this happens for a reason?
How?
I tried wooing you throughout our university days but all to no avail because of a stumbling block which is your fiancé.
Six years later, your fiancé call it a quit and I've been having failed relationship.
The second day we are reunited by a not so pleasant event. I want you to know that all this while my love for you still remains the same.
Everything that happened is just a testament to the fact that God supports this. I LOVE YOU ANITA.
" I...love you too"... She replied and cuddled up to me. We stayed like that for a long time that night.
3 days later Anita and I started our love life although it comes at a price but good things don't come cheap.
Anita and I were inside the big and popular shoprite to buy some stuffs when I begin... Hello, ladies and gentlemen please your attention is needed...
When I'm sure I've got the attention of everyone I got on one knee in front of Anita and turning around, I saw that people were looking forward to a romantic moment, so I began to talk...
I know, am not the perfect man and I can't promise not to let you down but I promise to get you up eachtime I do. Anita.
Am ready to be a Merlin to your Arthur, a Seeker to your confessor, a Jack Bauer to your USA and a password to your phone."
I paused and brought out a gold ring with a heart-shaped diamond design on it. I held it up against her teary face and knowing that a lot of people were watching us, I proceeded.
"Anita, will you marry me?" I stated softly with an anxious tone hoping she will not let me down. But she was just staring at me with a face overwhelmed with confusion and excitement.
"please Anita, you're my life, I can't live without..."
"stop talking please..." She cuts in sharply in a tone that got me worried.
"why?" I asked with a shaking voice.
"so I can say YES!..yes I will Marry you John!." She shouted delightedly. I inserted the ring into the appropriate finger and a round of applause and hootings followed instantly.
