Farewell Dawn

We departed Saba at dawn when we sailed up to Saint Martin. Little did we know that would be the last of our freedom for over three months. I love leaving places in the early dawn so you can watch sunrise back onto the island as you sail away. Its also peaceful as the kids are still sleeping. Saba is a particularly scenic island, every bit the lost volcanic isle one could hope for. Mount Scenery, which dominates the island, is actually the highest point of the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands at 887 metres (2,910 ft).
