Hi there steemians! I just want to share my TIRING, FUN and WORTH IT travel in MT. PULAG, BENGUET, PHILIPPINES
To give you some information about the mountain, Mt. Pulag is located in border provinces of Benguet, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya. In my country Philippines it is the third highest peak at 2,926 meters (9,600 ft) above sea level. This mountain is well known for its *** SEA OF CLOUD***. The pictures of this forest fascinates me specially the sea of clouds that I wanted to see it, and feel it. So even Benguet Province is 10 hrs away from my home town, me and my friends still decided to go and chase the sea of clouds. Few months before the day of the climb I prepared my body, I did some jogging and biking. Every weekend I do at least 2 hours of jogging after my office work and biking for weekend if I have a free time.

Traveling to Mt. Pulag
(My travel buddies with our giant bags)
After office hour we started to travel from my office to Manila and took 5 hours of travel including traffic. Have some dinner at McDonald and meet other hiker in Manila. At 11 pm we leave Manila and start to travel to Baguio City. I don’t know what time we arrived in Baguio but I think it’s about 4 am hahaha because I was so sleepy that time, we transfer to another vehicle (Jeppney) going to Benguet Province. We have our breakfast along the way, my friends enjoy the view along the way but all I did was sleeping hahaha I really can’t open my eyes but I think that was a talent ahahaha since I’m the only that took a lot of sleep in a bumpy roads.
(Breakfast along the way)
Few minutes of stop over then we travel again and I continue my sleep (hahahaha). It’s about 1 pm when we arrived in the first camp site at Mt. Pulag. Over all the total time of travel including the stop over and orientation in the Mt. Pulag was *** 20 HOURS***. And I think that was the most tiring part in my trip ahahaha.
So what is the first thing I did when we reach Mt. PuLag? It’s Eating time ahahaha
(Here I ate the best sinigang. I don’t know if it was because I’m hungry or it really masarap hahaha)
(After setting up the tent)
The temperature here was really cold that I feel numb whenever water touches my hand. We stayed here for one night since our trek will start at 2 am. We are 4 to share one tent but in the deep of my sleep I feel breathless I thought it was just the cold temperature but as I open my eyes my friend (the girl in the above photo with white long sleeve) was over me ahahaha I tried to push, her kick her but she still on her deep sleep so I just take a sit hehehehe.
Climbing Mt. Pulag
At 2 am we start our journey going to the summit of Mt. Pulag... the trekking was not that creepy since there were a lot of mountaineers going to the summit. The temperature in this time were really cold that I wore 4 layers of clothes.
Since everything was still dark we just walked..walked… and walked.
Here we wait to see the SEA OF CLOUDS. This view fascinates me. To witness this scene I can say that my effort were all worth it.
I love this view. Enjoying the cold weather. ahahahaha
At the summit of Mt. Pulag.
As we go back to the camp site. The mountain still give us breathe taking scene. Here were some of the views I seen :)
The grass part of the forest.
They say there was a treasure at the end of the rainbow ^ - ^
The mossy part of the forest.
Rice Terraces in Benguet, Philippines. Carved into the mountain by ancestor of Indigenous people in Ifugao.
Fine tree section of the forest.
And finally going home. It was a Treasured Journey, Treasured Memories and Treasured Mountain. The travel time were the tiring part. All the memories were the fun part. And the view, and the mountain were all worth the effort. It was really a tiring, fun and worth it experience.
And the only thing I did as we travel back home was of course sleeping ahahaha.
Let’s continue exploring the nature. Let’s Live Life. Let’s LOVE NATURE AND LEAVE NO TRACE PRINCIPLE.
