The Game that made my childhood

in #adventurequest4 years ago (edited)

All of the people including you, went through childhood.

Okay, before you say "No shit, Sherlock" or "Thank you, Captain Obvious", hear me out on this.

We can all agree that we all had our different experiences in our childhood, whether it is school, friends, teachers, classmates, crushes, food you eat, monster in the closet, how you poop, etc.

But none of that for now, me personally, I will share one part of my childhood that I can say really did shape it up, this is the game that I have been playing religiously from Ages 6 to 15 maybe, but I still do play it every now and then just for fun, and if I want to be hit by nostalgia.

And that is Adventure Quest (the classic one)

This is an RPG where you can create your own character, choose your own class (Warrior, Mage or Rogue) and adventure how you like. Back then, I was so sure (Please don't judge me on this) that nothing can top this game because I also played the other games created by the same developers which is Artix Entertainment. And... because we also have a very, and I mean, very slow internet connection....

For the gameplay, it is a turn based game which has the sequence of I hit you, then you hit me back then first one to lose health wins, pretty simple, right?

As for the art, back then you can say that it's not really the greatest, but it is still amazing that you can see it move when it attacks you. But when I was playing this recently, all I can say is that it has improve on the art, by a large margin.

And did I mention about how this is an open world game and no, this is not like the open world games you see now where you can move your character since this game looks like a slideshow, it just changes the background picture to imitate that the character is moving places and also you'll need Flash Player to play this game.

For the story, wow, I don't even know if there is a story, because sometimes the dialogues are so long that I just hit the next button fast just for me to get to the next battle. I'm just a kid, just want that thrilling battle experience, none of that boring dialogue stuff hahaha!

I don't know if this is the same for other people but I know for sure that this game made my childhood and I will still play this game every now and then, even if I get older, have more responsibilities or create a family of my own.

It may sound a bit cliché but I only wish for the developers to have a long healthy life and create more awesome games for kids.

Thanks a lot for reading.
