You can’t go to sleep without it, you wake up in the middle of the night because of it. You can’t speak to the person next to you because you are on it, you miss getting to know the person in front of you because you must look at it. You time is pressed, but you have one last post. You job is important, but you have one last picture to take. People must know your personal life, what you are doing, where you are going, what you are thinking, all day long. You ignore your kids because there is a video you must watch. You ignore your girlfriend or boyfriend and they ignore you too, missing the times you must share with each other special moments. You don’t listen to your wife, and the day she has had or you miss hearing your husband, when he says he needs you. In church, at home, at work, while driving, in the store, visiting family, shopping, and in relationships… the addiction is real. Instagram, Facebook, Snap Chat, YouTube, Twitter, all just to name a few. There is nothing wrong with Social Media, but when it becomes addictive and more important than getting to know someone, getting to know yourself, and getting to know God, that’s a problem. You can call this my opinion, and post about why I’m wrong, but then you have proved my point, because you created a post “about” me rather than talked “to” me face to face. Addicted to Social Media, that would be the day we have all plugged our lives into a device for emotions, spirituality, support, and to find love? That won’t happen, right? Moderation unplugs… can you break the addiction, or make the excuse why you are not addicted? If you were addicted to your relationship with God and your spouse as you are Social Media, then how much would you know them? Addictions…..
We are often distracted by a few, neglected many..
