Green CollectiV is a social enterprise that I started and is based in Tacloban City, one goal that we carry is our heart for the environment.
This is a picture I took, while I was lining up for a multicab going home. You see there are a LOT of floating plastics that is harmful not only to the environment but also to us - people.
Our mission in Green CollectiV is to make people see, engage and practice sustainability. I will be sharing more of what we do and the products that we carry in my next posts, so stay tuned for that. But for now, let me introduce to you our very own version of plastic straw alternative --- the BAMBOO STRAWS :)
Why bamboo straws? There are a few things why we chose bamboo straws to offer in Green CollectiV, aside from other plastic straw alternatives in the market (e.g glass, metal straws). These straws doesn't need factories/machines to make them, they come from a sustainable resource - bamboo (that grows back in just a matter of months!), 100% biodegradable (goes back to nature after its lifespan), and most importantly, can give livelihood opportunities to local communities in Eastern Visayas (yes! that's the goal!) 🌿💚🌍
So when YOU support us in our advocacy, remember that you are not only giving back to our environment, but YOU are also helping out these local communities! THIS IS WHY WE ARE DOING WHAT WE ARE DOING, THIS IS WHY I AM THE PROUDEST in making everyone know, that through our little ways, WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE 🙂
