I am an African and I'm highly blessed to be a part of a great people.
Africa is richly blessed with very beautiful flora and fauna, we are also blessed with numerous mineral deposits and above all we have a large expanse of arable lands at our disposal and our weather is climate enough to enable bumper harvest when ever we farm.
Despite all these natural endowments, we have not had the best history. The abundance of mineral resources in Africa brought in the "West" and with their arrival came untold hardship to Africa.
The Europeans and their allies did not only steal our mineral resources, they also stole the abundant human resources in Africa and so the slave trade boom started. They also brought us their religion and we embraced it.
Years after they left physically, we are still feeling the impact of centuries ago. They are still indirectly stealing our resources, their religions have created a division among the originally peace loving people of Africa.
Today, the image being portrayed to the world about Africa is that we are killers, today the world sees Africa as one war torn and ravaged area, but that is not who we are.
Yes we may be fighting, yes there are religious, tribal wars and even politically induced wars, but we are still a peace loving people with very rich cultural heritage.
THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF AFRICA SHOW, which we shall be bringing you every Wednesday, is designed to x-ray the African people, show the world at large the rich cultural heritage of the African people.
The show will also bring to the fore the beautiful sights around the African continent, as we have wonderful and amazing natural wonders on this planet.
We are a great people and we want to change the perception of the world about us. We are proud of our history, our struggles towards survival, that is what makes us the people we are.
So keep a date with me on this blog, every Wednesday and Friday, as I bring you "THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF AFRICA (SISO AFRICA) SHOW.
The show is going to be fun, entertaining and educating at the same time; you just can't afford to miss it.
