What should I do with the deadpost community

in #ah6 years ago (edited)

Peakd has just announced the automatic decline of payout for cross-posting. While I do think encouraging the decline of payment for cross posts is a good thing, it also throws a wrench in the whole format and rules of the deadpost Initiative.

Should we go back to telling people to repost with a little blurb at the top or is there a better solution?

I would rather re brand it. Don't have any idea yet but, if something comes I will let you know. I have participated back in the days on Steem and appreciated your initiative but sometimes you have to move on and simply re brand. There has to be a solution.

Good question. You might wanna ask this in Abundance Tribe or Nat Med discord. People might have ideas there ;<)

Hivewatchers is downvoting reposts, but you can still Tip old posts.

So, instead of sending hive to their wallets, you just tip the cross-post if their own and go to the original to tip if another author cross-posts it.

It's nice that cross-posts supply the link to the original now.

Man i still don’t really get the whole communities thing. I must be getting old.

If @notconvinced is right then Hivewatchers downvoting a declined payment really doesn't matter much and it's featuring good content from the past. I see it as like when around the holidays radio talk shows air "best of" broadcasts. Votes on the cross-post are also linked to the original post and some old posts don't have very many as it is.

Or we can take a page from my entry this week and send a tweet to a Dalek to "EXTERMINATE!" the new cross-post policy. :-)

Run it as an Abundance.Tribe weekly/biweekly post :-) @ArtermisLives is starting her Evergreen Curation starting next week. 10 posts, each author gets 5% beneficiary rewards. Let's chat on Discord. ~KK
