I think how it responds is deliberate and actually wired to be like that. As for the token, or subscription and weekly or daily limit, they've actually made it that way so people can always exhaust whatever they pay for and so they can quickly buy more subscriptions or token. It's crazy, but most of them tend to do it.

My understanding is that the AI companies are charging less than it costs them to provide the service. They are subsidizing the cost in order to increase their market share. So, it makes sense that they are capping their own cost. Eventually, they're going to have to charge what it actually costs.
I think a lot of them are actually not giving enough value for the money they charge. I paid 13$ for a particular AI subscription and I discovered that what whey offered was horrible, and I discovered I actually overpaid.
