Books are not always the ideal medium to transfer information, but they should still be useful. They can be less linear than things like video so you can easily keep going over important parts. The 'AI' tools may help us access information that is not obvious from whatever books we happen to have. You need to know where the information comes from. We have all seen the rubbish these bots can come up with, but they are evolving incredibly fast.
I don't know how much kids read these days, but they are getting a very different experience to what you or I had in our schooldays. We relied much more on the books we could access via libraries etc. I do think the 'oldies' have a bit of a bias against some of the new technologies, but we embraced the internet when general access happened.
