There are millions of Americans in America who need to be defended more than people in Israel or other countries. Life is all about priorities. We paid millions to trillions of dollars of taxes but most of is laundered to different places instead of going to actually allegedly help in foreign aid and a variety of things. Meanwhile, people are getting murdered and there is a lot of child sex trafficking happening around the world and governments fund it.
I would say that being a good ally to the only democratic ally in the Middle East should be a high priority, particularly when our goals are aligned as regards defense, security, anti-terrorism, technology, trade, etc.
