Could Elon Musk Open The Doors to Perception?

doors of perception

I think by now most people have already heard of Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, and the inventor of Hyperloop, a new transportation system that has yet to be built. He has been involved in the development of many other groundbreaking inventions but his most recent work is focused on artificial intelligence.

In one of his latest writings and conversations he admits to having started to work on a brain interface which would allow us to compete with AI. He believes that humans can't compete with Artificial Intelligence without the help of improved brain. This would literally be installed in our brains like an operational system in a computer.

He claims that it is entirely possible to create a brain interface that could be used by us to manage every bit of information that is stored in our brain. By using such a system we could compartmentalize our knowledge and recall it at will, no matter how deep it is buried within the conscious and the subconscious mind.

This is very interesting because surely there is a reason our minds are divided in a such a way and accessing the subconscious mind and having control over it could open new possibilities. The question is how would this change us and our life. Musk once said that having such power and unlimited access would make us feel god-like.

I question his theory on this. I think that if such a brain interface was ever built and installed in a brain and would work as described in theory we could enter a new phase of evolution. Driven by our soul's desire to unite with a higher being we would dig deep into the subconscious mind until we reach the doors of perception. And then what?

What will happen when we open those doors with the help of improved wiring to find out that we are all one big living organism and we're all connected through the subcouncious mind. What if this new interface will give us unlimited insights into all mankind and its entire history running through our genes?

I like to meditate and I firmly believe that our perception can be trained and mastered. When you mediate the object is to clear your mind from unnecessary thoughts and desires so that our inbred wisdom can resurface and purify our entire being. It takes years if not a lifetime to become a meditation master and I think the journey towards it is part of the process.

An inbuilt digital interface that could be controlled at will might change our lives but will it improve our soul, will it perfect our being and our state of mind? I'd like to think so but I'm concerned that it might do just the opposite for a lot of people who will fall prey to their own desires.

Having a wider access to our brain might turn bad people into master criminals but hopefully it will also improve the lives of many who want to improve for the better. Perhaps those who focus on understanding the world and themselves in it will be able to do so simply by accessing their subconscious mind. Perhaps, once they open the doors of perception they might even be able to travel through time and space just be closing their eyes.

But the question remains, as with all technological advancement, will this improve our soul or will it bring out the worst in people. Will a brain interface help the human race or will it enslave it?

What do you think?
