Usually when we use this phrase we are referring to someone who has done something quite unusual, or something that is not normally done by those who have got common sense, but in a scriptural concept it means something else. If you plan to be an effective Christian you must first of all lose your mind,because if you keep your own mind you will do things your own way. As a true Christian you can't think like you want to think or do things you want to do neither can you act like you want to, you have to learn to lose your mind and get the mind of Jesus Christ.
It's a shame that in the church we still have those who have not adjusted their thinking pattern,they are still vengeful,hateful,they are not willing to serve and trust God,they are always trying to get things their own way.
Christianity is a transition,a transition from selfishness to selflessness,it is no longer about you but about christ and the church,you are not only thinking of you being in faith but also about the kingdom agenda. what kind of mind did jesus have
Jesus christ is basically God,but he had to come to this world has a human because no man can see God in his true glory and live. Jesus Christ did not hold on to his equality with God, but he humbled himself. He never stopped being God,he is always God but he took upon himself the form of a servant, Christ was so humble that he washed the feet of his disciples.
Sometimes i don't feel like washing the feet of some people who i think do not appreciate me,am talking about myself now,sometimes it is really hard. People who hate you or those who act like you don't mean anything to them despite all your contribution to them, God says you should treat them better. It is not easy this is one thing those who labour hard in the church struggle with. What we must learn to do is to wait on God to exalt you,when men exalt you today,they may bring you down tomorrow,if they love you today ,they may hate you tomorrow. But if God exalts you no man can bring you down,since you know this now go and wash everybody feet,we have to do it,it does not matter how they treat you. YOU HAVE TO LOSE YOUR MIND
Thank you brother, this is a great concept. Kevin Max might say we have to be Jesus Freaks. Freaks as not understood by the world.
But the worlds is where we live and it is our job to help bring peace and reconciliation, it is no easy balance.
