DANGERS OF SMOKING

Smoking is an act in which a substance is burned and the resulting smoke breathed in to be tasted and absorbed into the bloodstream.active alkaloid nicotine; the vaporization creates heated aerosol and gas to form that allows inhalation and deep penetration into the lungs where absorption into the bloodstream of the active substances occurs.

Smoking is an incesant killer.it killed about 100,000,000 during the past century . More than 6 million people dies annually as a result of smoking. About six hundred people died annually as a result of second hand smoking.on average it kills an individual every six seconds.

The addictive nature of tobacco almost ensures that casualties will remain high ,among the one billion smokers already been hooked.

Tobacco contains additive drug called nicotine.
It acts as a stimulant as well as a depressant. Smoking delivers nicotine to the brain quickly and repeatedly. Since each puff supplies a single dose of nicotine, the average one-pack-a-day smoker inhales the equivalent of about 200 doses a day, a higher dosage than in any other drug consumption. image

Smoking is a global problem. About 30% of Chinese have shortened life span due to smoking.in USA about half a million deaths are due to smoking

Smoking damages every organ in our body.it also increases mortality and morbidity.

The following are the outlined effects

(1)lung cancer

(2)cough

(3)heart attack

(4)vascular stenosis

(5)risk factor in Alzheimer's diseases: this a mental disorder which smoking can increase the risk.

(6)smoking actually lower the prevalence of ulcerative colitis.

(7)smoking causes deoxygenated blood due the incomlete combustion give carbon (iv)oxide which impairs the ability of blood to carry oxygen when inhaled into the lungs.

(8)it can lead to impotence in male consumers:it damages blood vessel which result to poor arterial supply of blood to the penis.

(9)it can cause stroke: this occurs by causing cots of the blood , thickening of arterial and triglycerides in the blood. this then restrict blood flow.

(10)it can lead to miscarriages among female consumers: women who smoke are likely to have miscarriage . during pregnancy when a woman smoke , the chemicals in the smoke cross the placenta to the baby.

Honestly speaking
Some smokers really want to quit 🚬 but nicotine has held them captive

We have been preaching about the harmful effects of smoking yet the number of smokers is increasing yearly

Don't you think it's high time we talk of eliminating those stuffs that make it addictive
