I do sometimes use the tripod, in this case I didn't have time to get it so I was just bracing the camera on the edge of the deck railing. I did use a big zoom lens though, Thanks!

You captured an amazing scene in the camera even without using a tripod, it is nothing less than a compliment.
π Hope you get an opportunity to catch another UFO photo.. hopefully close enough to catch a glimpse of the pilot.. or grey!
