Jokes aside, I personally believe that natural crop circles (as opposed to man-made ones) are the work of a more advanced intelligence and may hold the key to a deeper understanding of our Universe.
I believe that the creators of crop circles (various civilizations) have access to another dimension and also exist there themselves (most of them). At the two-minute mark of this video, we can see the "device" used to create the circles.
The image of this device has appeared in fields several times in different years. I think we need to translate this drawing into a 3D figure and think about what kind of device it might be.

Ah,the myth persists. I wonder if the guys in a field with a tractor and a plank creating patterns ever thought people would be still thinking it was aliens all these years later. Why would ET come here to create patterns in fields? Surely by now they'd have moved on to farming humans for milk and honey..
Our civilization will develop interstellar travel technologies (starships carrying robots and human embryos) in a couple of hundred years. There's a high probability that on stars (billions of years older than our Sun), this technology developed billions of years ago.
I'm not 100% sure who makes crop circles. Probably both. Or maybe just people with sticks, because we're the smartest people in this part of the galaxy :)
Of course, these are messages from other dimensions, they are trying to reach us (as best they can), they give clues...
