There are lot of people who drink almond milk do so to avoid drinking cow's milk, which is why the FDA has been forced to issue a recall on more than 145,000 half-gallon cartons of "potentially compromised product," per Gizmodo. The affected product from HP Hood: Blue Diamond Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk, which a company rep tells Gizmodo may contain real milk due to a "failure in the production process." "We make both dairy milk and almond milk and some milk accidentally or inadvertently was entered into the batch of almond milk," the spokeswoman says.

The company is big company the company has gone over their processes and put into place "corrective actions" so something like this doesn't happen again. The FDA notes there has been just one report of an allergic reaction tied to the almond milk, with no medical treatment or a trip to the hospital required. The possibly affected cartons, which were shipped to 28 states, would have a use-by date of Sept. 2 and one of four codes on the container, which can be found on the FDA site. The agency says the milk is still safe to drink for anyone who doesn't have a milk allergy.
