I was just chatting to @instructor2121 regarding getting people interested in alternative energy to start a community here on steemit, and he instantly created the alt-energy-trail over at the steem-trail chat on discord!
I am no expert in alternative energy though the subject fascinates me. But I also feel responsible that we are destroying a lot of things on the planet due to our insatiable need for energy of some form.

I have been long enough on steem to realise that a majority of the community here is looking at alternative ways of doing things, and I feel discussing and posting about alternative ways to harness energy should blend in well with that ethos.
I do dabble in a bit of DIY stuff mostly regarding solar energy, but I can bet there would be a whole lot more who have knowledge about the many alternatives which are out there, and would love to hear from them.
So through this post I call on all enthusiasts and experts to rise up and focus on this topic, as by doing so we will not only be propagating practical knowledge which can help people, but also do our bit to bring awareness about the energy problems facing the world today.
So come on Steemians, lets do this, lets start posting in the #alt-energy tag more often!
You may also click the down-arrow next to my name (before my reputation score below) to follow me. Or you may just re-steem to share the love! 😊
@norbu very good post! This does need more attention here on steemit. I believe we have the technology available today to sustain us. Lobbyist keep this tech supressed for sake of monopolistic interests. Im hoping this changes very soon. Thank you for writing about this and i look forward to future post on this subject.
Thank you. I also have felt that some portion of the knowledge is deliberately suppressed and the block chain might be a good place to record it for posterity. And I hope the more knowledgeable among us see this and consider posting on the topic!
Totally agree.
Great idea. I think the next generation of alternative energy sources and storage are going to revolutionise how we live.
Yes, but looks like a lot of the advancement achieved is suppressed deliberately by people who have a stake in the "old" energy as a business. IMO if this information is let out, we will have that revolution!
Very true. One thing I thought of is what is every gym machine had a generator attached, you'd be able to power the whole gym from a spin cycle class.
From what I know that will be possible easily for low ampere applications like LED lights, but to power anything beyond that, manually, might not be possible.
It might be, if the energy is reaped from sources which presently is classified "Energy conspiracy theories!".
I've written a few good post about alt energy.

couple of the more successful posts but I write a quite a bit about this topic actually. I'm very involved in promoting a sustainable future.
Thanks for commenting, because it is due to posts like yours that I suggest this topic, and invite more people to write on it, using the tag #alt-energy, so we can find them easily and create a sub-community interested in this.
i was using green and sustainable but i will now start using #alt-energy
and Cheers
