Numerai is an AI hedge fund. The token is Numeraire (NMR), it's an ERC20 token with a smart contract to never surpass 21 million total supply.
Minting is based on a formula that takes into account the amount destroyed and a few other factors and disbursement is done long term in a measured way mainly as a reward to the data scientists generating the predictions impacting hedge fund performance. People who want to make predictions stake their NMR which prevents shitty predictions from being rewarded and makes data scientists participating have something at risk.
The circulating supply is 1.2m and the total minted to date is just over 2m.

Very good article. Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. It's surprising how much uneducated investors the crypto space has.
