Most coins follow the bitcoin trend in the Elliot wave that we are now in.
This won't happen forever.
When Bitcoin goes to 100k, many altcoins will follow the trend due to the next speculation wave and could likely see percentage gains much higher than btc. (as seen in latter part of 2018).
Most altcoins will be become overpriced and you can become rich. A millionaire maybe?
If you become fiat rich very quickly then this is the time to sell your altcoins because this is when only about 5-10 crypto projects will prevail and the others become ask Jeeves, myspace, and pets.com.
In the next wave after this, the institutional money could boost bitcoin to a million dollars and not give a crap about the alts.
Everyone will want bitcoin and sell their alts to get it.
Conclusion
Alts still have value now, they could go 50 -100x in the short term (2 years or so).
It's probably best to slowly accumulate bitcoin.
Forget about 'I bought it at 6k and now it's 3k.'
If you have a bitcoin, there's a good chance you'll end up on the Rich List in 20 years time.
Some alts that will be the next Amazon and some haven't appeared yet but may dominate the scene.
Don't assume you're altcoin will do what the team say. They are probably not the next big thing.
They have competition and a million things that will get in their way.
