Alva County Diner Review

Alva County Diner is a great restaurant, the building and staff make you feel like you are right at home. They serve the best sweet tea I have ever tasted, it is sweet but not to sweet. Although it is a little bit loud when you come at seven at night. They give you dinner rolls to munch on before you get your dinner.
The rolls are either pumpernickel or plain white bread which have a great semi-sweet flavor.

With my meal I had the choice of a side of soup or a side of salad. I chose the soup, the soup of the day was split pea. The split pea soup, it had a slight smoky flavor from the smoked ham and had a great taste. It was thick like a stew but tasted great with saltines.

I got a meal of 1/4 dark meat broasted chicken. It had a great flavor and was pull off the bone ready. It would be what I recommend if you aren’t adventurous in your food choices.
The chicken also came with a side of french fries and green beans. The french fries did not come with salt on them and they were bland, once you added salt they tasted much better. The green beans on the other hand had a good flavor but I have tasted better.

The night that I was there they also had all you can eat fried pollock. the fried pollock did not taste fishy and it had a great texture and flavor, it combined greatly with the tartar sauce. Anybody who likes fish would most likely like this dish. It came the side of the same green beans and a baked potato. The baked potato was cooked to perfection, the skin was nice and moist and the center was soft.

Alva County Diner also has half of a broasted chicken. Which is pull off the bone ready like the dark meat broasted chicken. And came with the perfectly cooked mashed potatoes and the same green beans. The mashed potatoes had a perfectly seasoned gravy that made my mouth water.

In conclusion, Alva County Diner has all different types of food with great taste for all different types of people.
