Human vs Dragonfly eyes....

Color vision in humans relies on three light-sensitive proteins, called opsins. Each opsin absorbs one color of light in the spectrum... Thus our eyes absorb red, green or blue that also mix together to provide a rich palette of color...

Dragonflies and suborder damselflies eyes can see more than the human eye... Their commpound eye is comprised of up to 30,000 thousand elements known as facets...They can see almost a 360-degree field... They also have four or five different opsins, allowing them to see colors that are beyond human visual capabilities...Like ultraviolet (UV) light...They are able to see a mosaic of "pictures" not fully understood..
