AMD Is Already Stealing Market Share From Intel Thanks To Ryzen

According to Passmark's website, AMD's market share has kept increasing due to the rise in popularity of its new Ryzen CPU series.

Ryzen has been well received by PC enthusiasts and customers so far, because AMD finally managed to create a CPU that can compete toe-to-toe with Intel's best, while often winning by a significant margin in terms of performance/dollar.

This has now been validated by Passmark's data, which shows that for the last quarter, AMD's market share has increased to 23.5%, compared to only 17.5% a year before.

AMD has recently launched two other promising products, the Threadripper series, for professionals that can use up to 16-cores and 32 threads on their PCs, as well as EPYC, its 32-core server CPUs.

All in all, AMD's medium-term future looks quite promising, and it's likely going to continue to steal market share from Intel, as long as its CPUs are competitive in performance and offer much better value than Intel.
