America needs to tend to the needs of the needy before the needs of the greedy

To honor the belief that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness as described in the Declaration of Independence, America must provide, as a baseline, food, water and shelter. To honor the ideal (as states in the Declaration of Independence) behind the founding of America, excessive greed must not take precedence over the well-being of a single citizen of this nation. America, as a a nation should require that no one and no thing (organization, corporation) profit while millions go without or die so that others may have excesses.
The right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness can only be realized when one is neither starving, thirsty, broke nor homeless. For leaders of this nation, be they heads of church or state, businessmen or women or the wealthy, to prove their belief in this nation, they must denounce excessive wealth that causes so much starvation, poverty, homelessness and disenfranchisement. This is not what we hear from our current leaders, as they hold hearings to determine whether a man who has been exposed as a racist, misogynistic bigot should be a final arbiter of what is Constitutional and what is not.
Why don't our leaders speak to the poverty that is increasingly being forced upon more Americans, as the rich hoard their wealth, effectively removing it from circulation in our economy? Why do these same leaders fail to demand that the wealth of this nation be used to benefit this nation, which includes every citizen within it. The idea of a "country" is after all a man-made construct, because nations are neither inherent to the continent, island or plot of land upon which they exist, nor did they spring out of nothingness: They were created in the minds of men and women and are therefore only made real by the people within them. Given this fact, a nation should take care of every person who is part of that nation. Once every person of that nation's needs have been met, the rich can then fight for and hoard any excess wealth. Let them have their mansions, and yachts, but only after the rest of the nation is fed, hydrated, clothed and sheltered.
