On March 11, 2020, the Celo Foundation announced fifty founding members of the Celo Alliance for Prosperity.
Members include some members in the Libra association include Coinbase, Andreessen Horowitz, Mercy Corps, Anchorage, BisonTrails... etc. Most of these members are in the blockchain industries.
Celo is a blockchain project to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity. Reported by TechCrunch, "The biggest differentiator of Celo’s network versus other blockchains is that payments in the Celo Dollar stable coin can be sent to people’s phone numbers rather than complicated addresses. The goal is to make delivering utility via blockchain easier by building a flexible network of applications that doesn’t scare regulators like Libra has."
Celo plans to officially launch its main-net in April.
