Anarchy for noobz...We are not Republicans

in #anarchy7 years ago

I'm writing this blog because I keep seeing content creators taking terms and ideology out of context to create a distorted point of view.

Obama is not a socialist.

If you were to tell an anarchist 30 years ago that you were for privatizing social services, you would have been punched squarely in the face! Anarchists have always been sympathetic to the left, and that is because they both represent a grass roots/by-the-people effort to put social power into the hands of the everyday citizen. I keep hearing people say absurd things like, "Obama is a socialist" or "The Federal Reserve is a communist organization". Nonsense! Obama has done nothing for the everyday citizen and he has sucked off the corporate powers at every chance. Which makes him a conman for the oligarchs. Second, Obama was informed that 90% of people killed in drone strikes are innocent civillians and he continued to authorize them, which makes him a murderer. Obama is anything but a socialist. Do I even have to explain that the Federal Reserve is organized crime?

I'm not asking anyone to agree with leftist principles. I'm just asking you to know WTF you are talking about. When the Libertarian movement started to become popular in the early/mid nineties, Anarchists saw them as disgruntled Republicans. The Libertarians were associated with the T.E.A. Party (Taxed Enough Already) movement. There seems to be a new brand of anarchy that is completely hostile to the left. I am an anarchist and I have always been sympathetic to the socialist cause. I also understand the value of sound money and genuinely free markets. Here is some historical context on Anarchy and Socialism.

Excerpt from Wikipedia:

Anarchism is a political philosophy that advocates self-governed societies based on voluntary institutions. These are often described as stateless societies, although several authors have defined them more specifically as institutions based on non-hierarchical free associations. Anarchism holds the state to be undesirable, unnecessary, and harmful.

The earliest anarchist themes can be found in the 6th century BC, among the works of Taoist philosopher Laozi, and in later centuries by Zhuangzi and Bao Jingyan. Zhuangzi's philosophy has been described by various sources as anarchist. Zhuangzi wrote, "A petty thief is put in jail. A great brigand becomes a ruler of a Nation." Diogenes of Sinope and the Cynics, and their contemporary Zeno of Citium, the founder of Stoicism, also introduced similar topics. Jesus is sometimes considered the first anarchist in the Christian anarchist tradition. Georges Lechartier wrote that "The true founder of anarchy was Jesus Christ and ... the first anarchist society was that of the apostles." In early Islamic history, some manifestations of anarchic thought are found during the Islamic civil war over the Caliphate, where the Kharijites insisted that the imamate is a right for each individual within the Islamic society.

Eugene Debs was a socialist.

Jesus was an anarchist.

Sort:

Jesus was definitely an anarchist, if any of that is to be believed. Funny how Christianity, (iterations on the pharisees), has produced so many authoritarians given the star of the show rejected all that. Saint Machiavelli would approve.
