RE: Time to talk about - "Our Tube" - The decentralization of YouTube

In my own opinion switching wont happen unless a few of the big youtubers decide to switch platforms. Take Pewdiepie for instance, largest channel there is on there with 46,000,000+ subscribers. All he would have to do is take a few weeks worth of earned income and decide he wants to create his own platform and there go at least half of his subscribers with him, sure some of them will still watch youtube for the ones that didn't follow him to the new platform, but over half of the big channels would as well.

This LBRY thing seems interesting and if it were to be successful it needs to be marketed to the advertisers and channels that make YouTube a success. I have my own channel on there and produce gaming videos and vlogs. If your interested in that sort of thing you can check my twitter for the link to the channel, I use the same name there as I do here. At the current moment I am completely ignoring YouTubes community guidelines and curse like a sailor in each video because I can. All my videos are still monetized some how and it makes me wonder if YouTube isn't just doing this to avoid paying the larger channels. Most of them make at least $500+ per video. My channel being as small as it is, only makes pennies if that.

I would love to see a crypto supported video platform that works in the same manor as YouTube does as far as their video player goes. My internet sucks and the player on the new platform would have to support each resolution that the YouTube player does, as low as 144p, then 240p 360p 480p 720p 1080p. If it doesn't support those resolutions then I am likely not to even bother and likely alot of mobile users wouldn't either because 144p is the resolution most cell phones support that can access YouTube. The platform needs to be able to be accessed by all and not just people with 6+ mbps connections as alot of the world is still using 100 kbps, rural areas really suck for getting good internet speeds. Take all that into consideration and the new platform could be gold.
