IOS or Android? Great question. Here is one for you. What are you looking for? Security and Reliability or Compatibility and Freedom?
I am a tech guy who loves a device that can be upgraded and buffed, but with my mobile phone I have always relied on IPhones for their security and reliability. My Iphone 4S lasted me three years before I wanted to get a better camera with the Iphone X, and I still find that it is worth it.
The only front where I would prefer an android is (depending on the phone), the ability to expand storage and the ability to easily make custom apps. IPhones are very restrictive to the app store so if you need that, they won't help.
