A distress call was reported to us on Friday regarding a turtle with fishing hook stuck in the mouth of a flapshell turtle.
It was immediately rescued and admitted at Thane SPCA where it was kept under observation and to stabilize so that a surgery could be performed to remove the hook.
Next day an xray was done to understand proper positioning of the hook so that we could schedule the surgery.
Finally on Sunday a successful operation was conducted where the fishing hook was safely removed.
The reptile is doing well and will soon go back to wild after few more days of post operative observation and treatment at Thane SPCA.
