A Message from The Shire Animal Rescue Sanctuary
...we are approaching 50 animals here with us and the monthly expenses for food alone are astronomical (the 21 dogs alone go thru 6 large bags of Dog Food every month). The 3 Horses eat like, well, Horses...we also have 11 cats, 4 Possums, 2 birds and a Goat...they are all our wonderful family, and are treated like the precious Treasures that they are...about 90% of our household budget goes to the Animals and their Sanctuary, as Colleen and I require very little to live on, so any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. We have run the Shelter for the past 7 years in complete anonymity, but we are truly at a point where we simply cannot keep up with all the things they need...in about 3 weeks our rainy season starts and we are still one stall short for the horses, as we simply do not have the funds to add on...so again, as Amanda said, if you can afford to help, please do so...I believe strongly that we are doing God's bidding here, as the ONLY 2 Rules that we have at the Shire are Satyagraha and Ahimsa...seek the Truth as a way of Life and cause no violence to any Sentient beings in any fashion!
