Adventures in Dog Walking: A Big Friendly Dog

Last year my sister @svitlaangel advertised dog walking on gumtree. We had several people ask and one owned a big dog called Laidy. Before heading to meet Laidy her owner mentioned that she was a big dog and just checked we were okay with walking her. The first time we came to walk her we came in and met her she was a lovely bull mastive cross that was a bit excitable, but very friendly. When we walked and her, instead of dragging us along, like some of the smaller dogs did, she calmly trotted by our side. A few months later, unfortunately, her owner had to move away, however this year we got a message that she had come back and would love someone to walk Laidy again, so we now go on walks with my camera.

Here are some photos from our walkies

On one of the walks, we walked to the local creek which was dried up and followed it up into the nearby fields. We spotted some really loud birds in one of the trees on the way.

When we'd walked all the way to the top of the hill we discovered the view from there was amazing.

While walking over the hills we spotted a dog yelling at us from a small kids' cubby house.

He looked excited to see us!

Hi @izzydawn, love the flow of this post, with the words and photos and your style of expression. Is that anything to do with the quality of your homeschooling? lol.

Great photos, and how lucky you are to be able to come across such colourful loud birds :)

Thank you! We end up walking past some each time we go so I end up getting as many photos as I can of them if i'm able to spot them. It's great having lots of pretty birds nearbby.

Rainbow Lorikeets. They love banana.

Bananas! What about blueberries? I've never gotten close to any before to know that, I only tend to see wild ones.

I assume they'd be all over blueberries, too. This was taken down at Urumbirra Wildlife Park near Victor Harbour. 35 years ago there an Emu walked up to us, pecked the dummy right out of my little brother's mouth and swallowed it.

Oh hes so adorable! I used to walk some of my neighbours dogs to and it was always amazing when they walk right beside you instead of in front or behind.

Yes, they are so much nicer to walk when you are not getting dragged along!
