Meet Fidel Castrado - The coolest adopted dog ever!

Lets begin with the truth

Danny and I were looking to BUY a french bull dog. After days, maybe months of talking about having a dog, we thought that a a small dog with an attitude would perfectly fit our lifestyle. We both spent hours researching and looking for the perfect little puppy, but did not find what we were looking for.

What Changed?

It might be cliché, but Fidel chose us and we were happy to bring him home with us.

On a Saturday morning, we did not have much to do so we thought it would be a good idea to drive around town and check out the animal shelters. We both had a gut feeling that we would find a dog that would become part of the family. #AccionAnimal is an awesome shelter that really cares for dogs and cats, and the woman who runs it, really does it from the bottom of he heart. So it was a great place to head to.

We arrived and there were about 60-70 dogs barking in all the different "sections" of the shelter, divided by size. Fidel, definitely stuck out of the crowd in his full black coat and we asked if we could meet him. Danny and I took a seat as three or four dogs came into the area for the meet and greet. Fidel, came straight to Danny, sat right next to her and put his paw on her leg. That was it. Doglove at first sight.

What makes him the coolest adopted dog ever?

1.- His name. As if it is not funny enough to be a dog and be named Fidel, we decided to add "Castrado" instead of "Castro" as a last name. Do some research and you will soon find out the meaning of castrado.

2.- The amount of love this dog shares.

3.- He has never peed of pooped inside the house. NEVER. He has never eaten the couch or destroyed the plants we have on our terrace. He is basically a butler stuck in the body of a golden retriever looking dog. Much better than what we could expect from a puppy.

4.- He loves going everywhere. We have taken him to restaurants, coffee shops, catamarans, beaches and pretty much everywhere we can go with a dog. He behaves almost better than we do.

5.- He is another reason for Danny and I to plan awesome activities. There are not many beaches in the Riviera Maya where you can take your dog. Having Fidel has forced us to find amazing beaches with no one around to bother us during a good game of fetch.

6.- He sleeps exactly as much as we do.

7.- He loves going on long walks.

8.- He is the best cuddler in the world. Really...better than me. Here is proof.

If you want more reasons as of why Fidel is the coolest adopted dog ever, let me know and I will be happy to write another post about our awesome dog...or maybe I can write about a monkey. Let us think.

Hello, Fidel! Dog love is the best, isn't it! I started a hashtag (#steemitdog) for us K9 lovers -- hope to see you over that way :)

Yes, doglove is awesome and Fidel is the definition of doglove. I will definitely us #steemitdog for my next post about Fidel. I was thinking of maybe making a cool video of him. Stay tuned.

Nice! A dog video sounds awesome. My pup is Bruce--he's a mischievous wiener dog, lol.
