Many thanks for the follow, @galenkp. Yep, you never knw what kind of unexpected things you end up with when the only thought was "it seemed like a good idea at the time." I also have a number of kookaburras, but they are the round, silver kind.

Just got back in from feeding the critters and passed your g'day to Emma. She mostly just stared at me. I probably don't have the proper accent.

Mate, I had thought I was following you already to be honest and was mortified, well...mildly miffed, when I realized I was not. Apologies bro.

So, you and that bloody emu. I told a couple of people at work who thought it was pretty cool. To be honest emu’s freak me out. That cheezle-debacle back when I was a kid scarred me for life.

You should do a blog about Emma’s thoughts about living Stateside and how she misses Australia. :)

Oh, yes I got me some round, flat silver kookaburra’s too!

I'll see if I can get her thoughts on her ancestral home. She gets choked up at the mention of Alice Springs and gets positively moody at any mention of the Outback, so I will have to take it slowly. This morning is bright with sunshine and she is out on worm patrol now. I suspect the "g'day" got her in a nostalgic mood, so maybe more "home talk" later.

You know, reality is not all it's made up to be. I can do with less of it than most adults.
