The atmosphere inside the house.

This house is actually built by the Dutch for Teuku Umar because at that time Teuku Umar want to cooperate with the Dutch. This has led to turmoil among the fighters who think Teuku Umar has betrayed and became a Dutch accomplice. Later this tactic was used by Teuku Umar in order to access Dutch weaponry to be distributed to the Aceh warriors. This made the Dutch very angry, and burnt his house in 1896.

The present house is a replica that was rebuilt by depdikbud and inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Fuad Hasan in 1987. A typical house with a typical form of this aceh measuring 25 X 17 meters with 65 wooden pillars.

Like the traditional house of aceh in general, this house has a narrow front door so we have to slightly lowered to get into it. But once inside, this terrace house is very spacious and cool. In this house also exhibited various photographs of the struggle of the people of Aceh in seizing the independence. Slightly differentiating this house from other Aceh houses is part of the well, in this house the well is made very high with the well lips reaching the second floor which is meant to avoid the Dutch put poison into the well.

The atmosphere around the yard is quite green and beautiful, this location is often crowded visited during school holidays or holiday weekend. In this location there is also a center or center of traditional aakeh pastry craftsmen. Along the way around this location there are dozens of cake sellers with turnover of millions of dollars per day. So if you have the opportunity to visit this Cut Nyak Dhien house, do not forget to shop for various Acehnese famous cakes that are sweet and soft.
