We have animal volunteers in 8 countries, but this first step is being requested for Uruguay because of the cruel situation that prevails, abandonment and CAPTURE TRUCKS, which although prohibited by law, are administered at will by the authorities.

You can. Other people just need your steem username and then can transfer you some steem whenever they like. You can post that you are looking for donations and for what cause and people who support your cause could donate if they wanted to. Even if they just upvote your post, it can be a source of a bit of steem that you can use for your cause.
Of course, you should make it very clear who you are and should verify your identity as an organization and so on so people trust your plea for donations.

Hello Karen! We don't understand your question. Here on steemit you say? We have been here for a few days now and we really do not really know how it works, but a friend recommended that we share our story here, because there are many people who can sympathize with the need our animals are going through, but we did not understand what that mean with that.
I transfer donations to animal-shelter on here by transferring either steem or SBD do you accept donations on steemit 😊
We don't know if we accept donations here, because we don't know how we can see this or setup this here on steemit :-( ... we got a wallet that this friend of us recommend to set up to receive donations (on bitpay), but really we don't know inside steemit how we can receive donations :-(

Generally speaking @karenb54 and other who'd like to do that could already send you donations. They transfer steem or steem dollars to your account and bang, they have donated. Than you need to take the money out of your steemit account somehow, but the ways to do that are pretty clear.
