Guardians of Sunderban

Hello Steemians,
Today I will tell you about the most threaten, endangered species on this beautiful Earth – “The Royal Bengal Tigers”. It is a very rare and beautiful animal which are found in India, coasts of Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Who is the Guardian? Why they called so?
Tigers everywhere prevail here, currently there are around 125-135 tigers here openly traveling for their food and surviving. Yes Of-Course they “The Royal Bengal Tigers are the guardian of this place".

These Tigers are fully carnivorous in nature. For surviving they thrive on small and medium sized animals. However, they becomes man-eater too when they could not find hunt. Several fisherman, boat passengers are killed and eaten by them.
Thus they ruled the area as Guardian, people threatens every time when they attacked into the locality.

How the Tigers survived in the salt water?
It is still a mystery. Many environmentalist’s tried to solve out this question but they have still not found.

Bio data of the Tigers
Size – Males have an average total length of 09-10 feet’s including the tail, where female’s measure between 08-09 feet’s on average.
Coat - yellow to light orange coat looks into them awesome. They have several stripes in their body from dark brown to black, whereas the belly and inner parts of the limbs are fresh white. Now their tails are orange with so many black rings.

Weight – For adult one ranges between 225-325 kg.
Teeth- It has obese and sharp teeth which is little exceptional from other animals. Canines are 75 to 100 mm which is longest among all cats.

Where is Sunderban located?
The word ‘Sunderban’ is a Bengali word, which means in English ‘Beautiful Forest’. It is located on the'Bay of Bengal' where the rivers Ganges, Yamuna, Brahmaputra mixed in the range up to southern Bangladesh. More than 60 percent of Royal Bengal Tigers are found in the sunderban which is located – Eastern India and Bangladesh.

With all these mangroves like sundari, Goran and Geoya Sundarbans has become one of the world's most extensive landmarks.

In the saltwater waters around, these trees really look beautiful. UNESCO declared Sunderban as a World Heritage Site. Many rare species of snakes are found here apart from the Royal Bengal Tiger.

While visiting I have found some unknown words enchanted by the local boat drivers and guides. “Joy Maa Bonodevi”- hearing that I asked them what this mean- “replied, she is the Goddess of this area and we always venture out invoking to her.”
I chanted myself in my mind- “Joy Maa Bonodevi”.Was a Thrilling experience, saw random royal Bengal tigers from boat.
