More GreasePencil Animation mixed with 3D overlay/rotoscoping

I modeled stairs in 3D and drew a guy smoking and walking over it.
animation is time consuming and hard. the more i try it the more my respect grows immensely for all the amazing animators out there.

this one is like the punch animation except I removed the 3D part of it from the render and drew over the pieces like a rotoscope.

That’s some cool stuff man, I think I like the animated art that you put out better than some of the still-shot art I see others do. I like the animation component more because we don’t see it too often!

thanks for the kind words! animation is something i've tried and given up on many times in my life. new software makes it easier and more fun. i've seen some prominent independent animators switch to blender lately. hope more people use it, it's free and opensource which is dope!

It absolutely is! Especially if you do it in 2d I think XD I've done both 2d and 3d and I find 3d easier ^_^; or at least easier once you either get past the rigging (I hate rigging!) or can con get someone else to do it.

ooooh yeah i feel you on that. 3D is amazing, would love to learn how to animate like they do in RWBY.. that stuff's amazing. rigging is okay.. weight painting is UUUGGGHH

Did I mention that I hate rigging XD I use and modify the rigify rigs that ship with Blender, and use parent with automatic weights so then I just have to fix the generated weight maps which is a hell of a lot easier than weight painting the lot from scratch.
