Happ 5th anniversary. I'm just starting my 3rd week, so I'm a long way behind you. I'm still learning about creating content. Coming up with new things to say is challenging. But I think that like most things, the more you do it the easier it gets. It would be good to get into the situation you're in and be ahead enough to schedule posts, particularly over weekends when I'm using tied up with family things.
Most when they start on Hive usually talk about Hive and random things. Over a progression of time, you end up finding a niche to focus more on. Hive is often a great excuse to go out and do the thing you want to in life.
What many find to be their own mundane life is often different and exciting for someone else across the globe. Hive is quite a global community. Sometimes you just got to test with different topics and see how they go.
Many on Hive take a hobby they have and share about that. It can sometimes create an interesting loop where you want to expand on that hobby to create more content and doing it leads you to do things you wish you always had and thus more content.
Mine has always been gaming. Gaming is quite a large topic here on Hive. You have everything from normal single-player games to blockchain MMORPGs. This makes it quite a wide topic where many have carved out their niche.
One thing I always wanted to give a try was making my games. For over two years I gave it a try. While it ended up being too massive of an undertaking for me in the end using Unreal Engine 4. I ended up expanding beyond just this blog and giving its own space till I shut it down. Such failure can be painful when you are sharing about it that is just the course of things here.
Ultimately you want to be doing things in a sustainable way that you can keep doing for years to come. Far too many push themselves hard and burn out leaving for months or years on end. Instead of being around for five years, they were around for only 1-6 months.
Thank you for taking the time to give me such a detailed reply. It seems to me like Hive is a great place to write about anything I want to. I think you are right, eventually I will find something that I can write about regularly. Games are not something I have ever got into, so I'm unlikely to go down that route. But I'm sure something will come up
